Tuuulibrería is a project of the association Yooou, which has as its aim to prevent the waste of books and to promote and facilitate the reading of books. To do so, they opened several places throughout Spain, with a very interesting concept, based on an idea from the United States.

At Tuuulibrería people can bring their used books. Books you have read and will never read again can be delivered in the store. By giving a donation (the amount can be decided by yourself according to what you can afford) you can take books with you home (the amount that fit in one hand). Really simple and effective, and a truly social way of exchanging books and preventing the waste of them (cause let’s be honest, books are one of the most adequate objects for an exchange program). Various books at this store in Madrid are in different languages, so it’s interesting for everyone to check it out. Another measure we particularly love is that Tuuulibrería attaches a lot of importance to transparency. This means they publish their monthly accounts on their website, accessible for anyone.
