That Brussels has a lot of creative and inspiring souls is no secret anymore (major newspapers even start to call it “the new Berlin”). To find the true spirit of the contemporary Brussels, Recyclart is a project definitely needed to check out. Housed in the train station Brussels Chapelle, this art and social economy project has a major impact on this neighbourhood of the capital.

At Recyclart various art-forms are created, produced and exposed. Always with an aim of supporting young artists and with a focus on connecting the local community. There is no division between the different art-forms to be found here, but the mix is interesting and diverse (and includes photography, music, film, literature and much more). With its social economy approach, Recyclart helps in more than one way in creating a more local and based-on-solidarity economy.

At Recyclart you can find an art center, different wood and metal ateliers in which art is produced, and a restaurant-bar called bar Recyclart, which is a very interesting place to meet locals, enjoy some drinks or even food (and they participate in the Thursday veggieday project).

With its project Recyclart shows the huge amount of possibilities for abandoned sites in the city. With a community spirit, a lot of creativity and motivation, they turned this site into one of Brussels most dynamic places. There is always something happening here and visiting will certainly awaken your creative soul!
