Parque de Berlín: park in Madrid, full of references to Berlin

parque-de-berlin-madridWith its five hectares in size, Parque de Berlín surely isn’t one of Madrid’s largest parks. But it does really get used by its citizens, the people of Chamartín. And it’s a welcoming green area in this part of the city. You’ll find grass-fields and trees, but also some fountains. It’s a place where friends meet, where people take in the sun, and especially popular among dog owners.

But what is most remarkable about the park are the many references to Berlin. You’ll even find a piece of the Berlin Wall inside. But you’ll also find statues, for instance one of a bear, the symbol of Berlin, and the main fountain to be found within the park is a symbol of the demolishing of the Berlin Wall.

An auditorium and sports fields provide more leisure options. Parque de Berlín is a nice place to be.
